Riverside Racket is the second of three appearances by Vernon Flowers, the main recurring villain in Carol Day, who was introduced in the first story [Charles Logan]. In this story Flowers is running an illegal gambling club with Jumbo Beck, a friend of Paul Egan’s, with whom Carol is visiting. Flowers is called on to hide out Peter Tribe, a friend who is on the run from a murder. While in hiding, Peter gets involved with Carol.

This story is scanned from second generation photocopies of David Wright’s tearsheet scrapbooks, enhanced in Photoshop for readability. Hence the presentation is not all that we would wish. However, we hope that you’ll agree that having the story in any form is better than nothing.
