Off-Stage is set in the world of the theater and concerns Peter Castle, a friend of Paul Egan's, who is wracked with guilt over the fact that he plagiarized his hit play from a dead friend. The morally flawed protagonist battling his conscience is a familiar figure in Wright's stories as is the strong-willed sister.
