Jennifer Egan
Episodes: #357-451

Jennifer Egan gives us a view into Paul Egan's personal life. Due to the demands of his work life, Paul has entrusted the care of his young daughter, Jennifer, to his harsh sister, and this is the story of Jennifer's rebellion. The story is an excellent example of how Wright can take typical, 2-dimensional comic strip supporting characters and give them weight and depth, as Paul is far from guiltless in Jennifer's situation and his sister is more complex than just an evil step-mother figure. The strong, over-bearing sister is a recurring type in Carol Day, seen also for instance in Off-Stage. Jennifer appears again in Arnold Tracy, though she is not the center of the plot in that story.

This story is scanned from tearsheets.
